Supporting the 2013 Grateful Gobbler can help change lives. See, below, how Coalition agencies assisted Mary Lakes, a former client and beneficiary of Gobbler Funds, and 2013 Grand Marshall of the Grateful Gobbler. Right now, there are hundreds of other people in the Greater Chattanooga area, just like Mary, waiting for your assistance.
“When I came to Chattanooga in September of 2009, I was completely broken. I could only go 2 hours, at the most, without a drink of alcohol before the seizures would start. With the help of several Coalition agencies, I’m recovering and building my life. Since that Monday morning January 11, 2010, I have not had another drink. ’I’m getting ready to sign my lease for a second year, and, for the first time in my life, all my needs are being met. I now have a full time position working at the Community Kitchen alongside all those wonderful people that have walked with me on this life recovering journey. It is an opportunity for me to give back to the community that has given so much to me. It is so important to me to be a good citizen of this great city. To contribute to and not take from. You are lifesaving and life changing… heroes in the truest form.”
